Ruthie's Summer Dress

The very simple lines of this dress are the perfect show case for the delicate cotton voile tufted print fabric. The bodice and skirt are completely lined and hand hemmed.  There is a full back opening for the dress, a velcro closure, and elastic gathered sleeves. I made the polyester organdy waist sash removable, so that the secured bow over velcro closure can be worn front, side or back. We all know how Ruthie loves to accessorize, so she chose a fabric covered plastic hairband and orchid beads and bracelet.  The jewelry is on stretchy mono-filament, the necklace has a lobster clasp. While the construction of this outfit is not historically accurate, the style and fabric are.  You can enjoy the beauty of 1930's simplicity, and the ease of modern fastenings and sturdy sewing.

With a vivid cotton print such as this, the simplicity of the pattern is the best compliment.  Mandy's dress has a fully lined bodice, full back opening & velcro closure.  The ribbon embellishment is polyester.  To chase the chill of a cool morning or evening,  Mandy has a soft pink, hand knitted shrug and crochet cloche.  A fabric covered plastic hairband and custom decorated sandals are the perfect finishing touches for this very simple, but special ensemble.

Cherries All Around

Lisa is ready for the end-of-school field trips in her sweet cherry capri set.  Her top and capris are made of a breezy cotton border print in one of my favorite patterns.  The top has elastic shoulder ruffles, a full back opening with secured bow and velcro closure; the capris, a cuffed hem, and elastic waist.  We made Lisa a beaded bracelet / anklet from  bright glass beads on stretchy mono-filament.  Her headband is fabric covered plastic. Speaking of hair bands - my grand daughter, Emily, told me that hair bands make cute belts - so I tried it and she's right.  I love talking dolls with my grand girls! Just be careful stretching that hair band around your dolly's waist. Completing Lisa's outfit are red bow pumps.

You might want to sit on your hands for this one, because it's hard to resist.  This lively calico sundress is made of 100% cotton in one of my best patterns.  It has a full back opening and velcro closure for ease of dressing,   The bodice is completely lined and the skirt lining is free floating with a delicate eyelet & ribbon ruffle.  Kit chose a large flower clippie for her hair, and white shoes with rosettes at the vamp and velcro strap by Sophia's.®  Look at Kit's wrist - yes that is a little bracelet with lime flower beads on stretchy mono-filament.

Capri Set for Spring and Summer

I'm happy to see the warmer weather because that means we can get out those great capri set patterns all my dollies like.  The girls especially like this t-shirt pattern from "Liberty Jane".  This  is made of a nice cotton single knit, and has a full back opening, velcro closure and iron on appliques.  The capris feature an elastic waist and hem kick slits and a decorative daisy button.  All the girls at the closet here love to accessorize, and Audrey chose a fabric covered plastic hairband to match her capris and a cute yellow and white beaded bracelet on stretchy mono-filament.  Sophias's ® white leather-look sandals are very well made and finish off this outfit in perfect style.

If you like sweet cupcakes, here is a treat for you and your dolly to enjoy!  This lovely dress of 100% cotton is full lined, including the skirt in white poly cotton lining.  It has a full back opening for ease of dressing, and a velcro closure.  the attached waist ribbon is polyester, the back bow secured.  To match the dress, I made a fabric covered plastic hairband.
